Yemen Airways, also known as Yemenia, has signed an agreement with the International Lease Finance Corporation (ILFC) for three Boeing Next-Generation 737-800s. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in April 2002.

Yemenia serves markets throughout the Middle East and Gulf States region, Europe and Asia. The 737-800, with its all-new wing design for maximum lift, aerodynamic efficiency and range, is especially well-suited for operation from Sana'a, Yemen.

"Following an intensive analysis of our current and future market needs, the 737-800 was the clear choice," said Captain Abdul Khalek Al-Kadi, Chairman of Yemen Airways. "It fulfills our rigorous operational requirements and meets the high standards of passenger preference."

The Next-Generation 737 is the most technologically advanced airplane in the single-aisle market. Flight deck liquid crystal displays and spacious new interiors are patterned after the market-leading Boeing 777.
