    Boeing-built rail cars? As part of its 50-year history the Philadelphia site produced 200+ rail cars throughout the 1970s!

    Marking its 50-year milestone today, the Boeing Philadelphia site has evolved throughout its last five decades along the Delaware River.

    As the government studied growing needs for mass transportation throughout the 1970s, Boeing produced rail cars at its Philadelphia site for transportation authorities across the country, including the Chicago Transit Authority and the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority. The production line successfully delivered more than 200 rail cars. Today, the Philadelphia site marks 50 years of successful business – building H-47 Chinooks, V-22 Ospreys and even rail cars!
