DigitalXpress Forms Alliances With Communications Partners To Boost Content Offerings, Capabilities

Digital Express, a provider of satellite communications services, has formed alliances with Gentner Communications Corp., PictureTel Corp. and the Teletraining Institute.

With these alliances, DigitalXpress will expand its offerings to include state-of-the-art audio systems from Gentner Communications; videoconferencing capabilities from PictureTel; and instruction on how to design and deliver any kind of distance-learning program from the Teletraining Institute.

PictureTel, based in Andover, Mass., is the world leader in developing, manufacturing and marketing a full range of visual and audio collaboration solutions. The company's systems meet customers' collaboration needs from the desktop to the boardroom.

PictureTel also markets network conferencing servers and a comprehensive portfolio of enterprise-wide services, including its Distance Learning Services, a comprehensive set of solutions designed to enable corporate training organizations to migrate their programs from traditional classroom settings to technology-assisted delivery. The program includes consulting, instructional design, classroom design, and event management, all of which can be tailored to meet the specific needs of the customers.

The Teletraining Institute, based in Stillwater, Okla., is the largest provider of training for distance educators in the nation. Showcasing more than 20 of the latest and best technologies in the industry, Teletraining provides opportunities for its clients to experience multiple application and equipment technologies. Its faculty has combined experience of more than 70 years in distance education and teleconferencing.
