Boeing, Somon Air Announce Order for Two Next-Generation 737-900ERs

SEATTLE, March 4 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Boeing (NYSE: BA) and Dushanbe, Tajikistan-based Somon Air today announced an order for two Next-Generation 737-900ERs (Extended Range). The order is valued at $163 million at list prices.

The order represents Somon Air's first direct purchase of airplanes from Boeing.

"With these additional airplanes we plan to broaden our network in the region. Somon Air is the country's first private full-service carrier. The airline currently operates two 737-800s and flies from Dushanbe to cities in Russia, Germany, Turkey and the United Arab Emirates.

The 737-900ER is the newest member of the 737 family, combining aerodynamic and other design changes to provide more room for up to 215 passengers while retaining the high performance that gives the Next-Generation 737 family world-class flexibility and efficiency.
