EVERETT, Wash., May 19, 2008 -- The fifth Boeing [NYSE:BA] 787 Dreamliner in production, now undergoing final assembly in Everett, Wash., will be the third airplane to enter the flight test program but the first of the all-new jetliners to be outfitted with a full passenger interior from the beginning. Other airplanes in the flight test program will include extensive flight test monitoring equipment when they fly and have modified interiors to accommodate that equipment. Eventually the airplanes' test equipment will be removed and the airplanes will be retrofitted with passenger interiors and delivered to airlines for use in revenue service.
