Boeing T-7A Awarded Aviation Week’s “Game Changer Award”
Pilot training system’s design recognized for its innovation

ST. LOUIS, Oct. 24, 2019 – The Boeing [NYSE: BA] T-7A Advanced Pilot Training System has received Aviation Week Network’s Game Changer Award. The program was recognized for its innovative use of model-based engineering, allowing the program to move from firm concept to flying two production-relevant jets within 36 months.

“From the beginning, we knew our design would change the way the industry designs, develops and proves out new aircraft,” said Paul Niewald, Boeing senior director and T-7 chief engineer. “We looked to use T-7 as a way to change the way aircraft are designed and developed so that we can bring safe, mission-ready systems to our customers more quickly and affordably than in the past.”

The award was presented during Aviation Week’s annual Program Excellence Awards, an industry event celebrating advancements in aerospace innovation and technology.
