Boeing Statement on DHS Solicitation for Remote Video Surveillance System Upgrade

ARLINGTON, Va., March 2, 2012 -- The Boeing Company today issued the following statement regarding the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's competitive solicitation for an upgraded, fully integrated, and commercially available Remote Video Surveillance System (RVSS):

"Boeing is proud of its role as the prime contractor to provide critical video surveillance capabilities along the U.S. northern border for Customs and Border Protection agents. Boeing led the design, integration, deployment, installation and acceptance testing of all system components in the Detroit and Buffalo, N.Y., sectors, successfully completing RVSS installation at 16 sites covering 52 miles.

"Our expertise and understanding of lessons learned delivering effective border-security capabilities -- often under extreme environmental conditions -- gives us confidence we can continue to deliver a cost-effective, commercial-off-the-shelf solution that will satisfy our customer's enduring need for the detection, tracking, identification and classification of illegal entries."
