ST. LOUIS, April 22, 2008 -- Boeing has been informed that the U.S. Navy has chosen another company for its Broad Area Maritime Surveillance (BAMS) unmanned aircraft system contract.
We are obviously disappointed and believe our proposal best fit the Navy's unmanned persistent maritime surveillance and reconnaissance needs. Our next step is to be debriefed by the Navy. After we have reviewed the details behind the award, we will make a decision concerning possible options.
The Boeing Company would like to thank everyone who helped us on the BAMS proposal, including our industry teammates Gulfstream, Raytheon, Honeywell and Rolls-Royce.
