Boeing Tests HALE Hydrogen Propulsion System Using Ford-Developed Engine

Boeing recently completed a test of a propulsion system for its High Altitude Long Endurance (HALE) aircraft (shown here in an artist's rendering) using a Ford Motor Company-developed engine. The test simulated conditions at 65,000 feet for a total of three days. During the test, the engine earned better than expected fuel economy while demonstrating the technical readiness of the hydrogen system.
