An ANA (All Nippon Airways) 777-300ER flies low over 614 microphones on the runway at Glasgow, Mont., where Boeing Commercial Airplanes and its industry partners conducted a flight-test program proving new noise reduction technologies. The microphones were used to visualize and record noise levels of the passing airplane. Engine fan-duct modifications and chevron exhaust designs achieved significant airplane cabin and community noise reductions.
