Major Milestone Completed on Turkey's First Peace Eagle Aircraft

Boeing workers in Seattle, Wash. have installed a reinforced upper section of the fuselage on the first 737 Airborne Early Warning and Control (AEW&C) aircraft (foreground) for Turkey's Peace Eagle program. The aircraft's main MESA radar antenna will be attached to that section later this year.

Turkey has purchased four 737 AEW&C aircraft with delivery of the first two scheduled for 2007. The final three aircraft will be modified by Tusas Aerospace Industries in Ankara, Turkey.

Pictured in the background is the second 737 AEW&C aircraft for Australia's Project Wedgetail.
