Boeing ScanEagle UAV Surpasses 3000 Combat Flight Hours in Iraq; Provides Real-Time Imagery for Tactical Commanders

The Boeing ScanEagle UAV is retrieved after a combat flight mission in Iraq. Since August 2004, the Marines have been using the long-endurance UAV to provide real-time imagery and situational awareness. ScanEagle is retrieved using a "Skyhook" system in which it catches a rope hanging from a 50-foot high pole.
