Boeing Statement: Boeing donates $1 million for tsunami relief

The Boeing Company has committed $1 million to support humanitarian efforts of three nonprofit agencies assisting tsunami victims in Southeast Asia. Boeing will work with the agencies -- CARE USA, Mercy Corps, and the American Red Cross -- to determine the best allocation of resources. "On behalf of Boeing people around the world, I'd like to express our deepest sympathy and condolences to all those affected by the earthquake and tsunami," said Toni Bailey, vice president of Community & Education Relations. "Our hearts go out to all who were touched by this tragic event." Contributions will be focused on providing emergency relief throughout the region as well as longer term rebuilding efforts, particularly in countries where Boeing has a major presence. The company will also match employee contributions to the Employees Community Fund. More information on how employees can donate though ECF will be available when the company resumes operations Tuesday after the holiday break.
