Boeing Delta II Adds Another GPS Satellite to Air Force Constellation

A Boeing [NYSE: BA] Delta II rocket successfully deployed a Global Positioning System (GPS) satellite to orbit today for the U.S. Air Force, marking the 61st consecutive successful mission flown aboard the Delta II.

The rocket carrying the GPS IIR-13 spacecraft lifted off at 12:39 a.m. EST from Space Launch Complex 17B, Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, Fla. The spacecraft was injected to a transfer orbit following a 26-minute flight.
