Boeing President and CEO Harry Stonecipher issued the following statement today after President Bush concluded an official visit with Boeing employees as part of a trip to the Seattle area:
"We would like to thank President Bush for making an official visit to talk with our employees about the economy and trade -- issues that are important to all of us at Boeing. The President clearly recognizes that fair trade is critical to the aerospace industry and to our customers around the world, as well as to the health of the global economy.
"We are pleased that the President is determined to see U.S. negotiators create a more appropriate framework with their EU counterparts. The current framework cannot be justified and needs to be changed immediately. We are confident that an agreement can be reached that will allow for competition on a level playing field."
