Boeing (NYSE:BA) officials have announced the opening of an Integrated Defense Systems field office in Norfolk, Va. A result of increased customer activity in the Greater Norfolk, Virginia Beach, and Suffolk areas, the office will support Naval and Joint customer activities in Virginia, Rhode Island and Europe.
"Our goal is to meet our customers' transformational needs," said John Lockard, Boeing senior vice president, Naval Systems. "The mission of our new field office is to provide continued customer support while increasing our understanding of their requirements. The message is: 'We want to be near, and we want to be available.'"
Retired Navy captain, Louis Lalli, a nine-year Boeing employee, has been named Director of the office. Lalli served most of his 27-year career at Naval Air Station Oceana and Naval Air Station Norfolk where he last served as Chief of Staff to the Commander, Naval Air Forces, U.S. Atlantic Fleet. Lalli will be responsible for the field office operations and Joint Business Development. In addition to Lalli, Boeing will staff the office with operationally experienced specialists in air, sea and undersea warfare.
