Boeing Names New Head of Contracts & Pricing

The Boeing Company today announced the retirement of Robert J. Ingersoll and the appointment of Timothy P. Malishenko as corporate vice president of contracts and pricing.

Ingersoll, a 36-year Boeing veteran, has since 1999 been responsible for policy, guidance and oversight of contracting processes across the $54 billion, Chicago-based aerospace company and has overseen company compliance in contracts and pricing and export/Import matters.

"Bob's career of service to Boeing provided critical leadership in a dynamic industry," Mike Sears, Boeing Chief Financial Officer, said in announcing Ingersoll's departure. "Highlights include his key roles in restructuring the company's participation in the International Space Station program and helping secure domestic and international regulatory approval for the acquisition of key businesses necessary in defining the new Boeing Company."

Prior to his most recent assignment, Ingersoll served as vice president of Contracts and Pricing for the Military Aircraft and Missile Systems Group in St. Louis. In 1998, using an Alternate Dispute Resolution process, Ingersoll successfully resolved a major litigation for the AC-130U Gunship with the U. S. Air Force. This is the largest dollar settlement to date using this process.

In 1997, he was the Boeing project manager for the Boeing/McDonnell Douglas merger Transition Team. He managed the process of obtaining Federal Trade Commission and European Commission approval as well as transitional integration of the companies. He performed a similar role in 1996 when the Boeing Defense and Space Group acquired the aerospace and defense businesses of Rockwell International. He was business manager for Boeing on the NASA International Space Station program in Houston from 1993 to 1996. He was responsible for all business agreements on the program between Boeing and NASA, international partners and major subcontractors.

Ingersoll joined Boeing in 1967 in the Boeing Supersonic Transport program. During his three-and-a-half-decade tenure at Boeing, he has held positions in both government and commercial contracting for Missiles and Space, Military Airplanes, Electronics and Product Support.

Ingersoll is a member of the National Contract Management Association (NCMA) and currently is the Co-Chair of the Board of Advisors.

Timothy P. Malishenko will replace Ingersoll as the vice president of contracts and pricing for Boeing. Currently, Malishenko is vice president of contracts and pricing, Boeing Integrated Defense Systems, where he oversees contracts, pricing and export management for operations, policy, processes and ongoing evaluations of business transactions and program performance.

"Malishenko brings a broad range of leadership experience from both inside and outside of the company," Sears said.

Malishenko joined Boeing in February 2001, after serving 31 years in the U.S. Air Force. At the time of his retirement, he was director of the Defense Contract Management Agency in Washington, D.C. From 1995 to 1997, he served as the deputy assistant secretary of the Air Force (Contracting). In these positions, Malishenko served in a broad range of defense acquisition programs, including contract management, space, aeronautical, international and electronic systems. Malishenko was a leader in the development and deployment of standard business systems in the Department of Defense (DoD). Further, he led the DoD effort that developed the end-to-end procurement process model and numerous common process initiatives.

Malishenko is a fellow of the NCMA and serves on its board of advisors.
