The Arts Alliance Center at Clear Lake, or TAACCL, received the third and final installment of a $100,000 gift from Boeing [NYSE: BA] to underwrite renovations to the Theater for the Performing Arts center.
The final installment of $25,000 was presented in a special ceremony March 27. Josephine White, director of Human Resources for Boeing NASA Systems and a member of the TAACCL board, presented the check to founder, past president and CEO Kay Taylor Burnett.
Renovations to the theater include a new stage, audience seating, movie screen, lighting and sound systems. The funds also support TAACCL performing arts programs.
"The Boeing Company and its people continue to contribute to quality of life across the planet," Burnett said. "It is a privilege to be a recipient of Boeing's support for this community art center where so many Boeing families participate."
"The Boeing Company and its employees are truly partners with the community," White added. "We value the many contributions TAACCL makes to the cultural life of the citizens of the Clear Lake area."
Boeing began contributing to TAACL in 1998 and has since become the largest overall contributor to its performing arts program. The Theater for the Performing Arts center is located at 2000 NASA Road 1, Houston, directly across from the Johnson Space Center.
Boeing NASA Systems contributed $1,149,862 throughout Texas last year, including more than $300,000 in the Houston area to non-profit community organizations and K-12 and higher education institutions.
