Vote by Machinists Results in New Three-Year Agreement

Voting on a new contract offer by some 25,000 Boeing employees represented by the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) resulted today in the approval of a new three-year agreement.

"We're looking forward to getting back to the business of building airplanes," said Alan Mulally, president and CEO of Boeing Commercial Airplanes. "We will continue supporting our customers and ensuring that Boeing remains a reliable and competitive supplier to the world's airlines."

The new agreement covers IAM-represented employees at Boeing facilities in the Seattle area, Spokane, Wash.; Portland, Ore.; and Wichita, Kan. The contract's effective date is retroactive to Sept. 2.
