Boeing Autometric's New Release of Softplotter Speeds Map Data Retrieval

Critical information from maps and charts can be obtained more rapidly with Softplotter® 4.0, the latest version of Boeing Autometric's high-end photogrammetric software toolkit. Boeing Autometric, a global leader in geospatial information and technology solutions, is a unit of Boeing Integrated Defense Systems, a part of The Boeing Company [NYSE:BA].

Softplotter®4.0 is the latest version of data production products in the Boeing Autometric line that enhance a user's ability to access data and make decisions based on that data. Using aerial photography, digital aerial imagery and satellite imagery, Softplotter extracts terrain and feature data to support the generation of maps, simulator and mission-planning databases, and site and facility modeling.

"Rapid access to data for decisive action is a key contribution from a Boeing Autometric solution," said Tony Moraco, deputy general manager of Boeing Autometric. "Our ability to take very complex data and efficiently extract vital information has proved to be beneficial to those tasked with making critical decisions. This upgrade to Softplotter will support both commercial and government customers."

One of the key improvements in Softplotter® 4.0 is the addition of IDELIX® Pliable Display Technology, PDT. This state-of-the-art stereo lensing capability is available exclusively from Boeing Autometric and enables Softplotter users to increase throughput capabilities. By connecting the lens and the pictorial overview, precision feature collection is accomplished with a minimum number of screen refreshes. Thus, the results are achieved more quickly and with greater accuracy.
