Educators interested in teaching students the principles of flight have a new tool at their disposal on the Internet.

A new Boeing Web site contains extensive information on aviation safety. Of particular interest to parents, teachers and young aviation enthusiasts is the flash media demonstration that shows in a clear, easy-to-understand way how jetliners fly.

The interactive module introduces the principles of aerodynamics such as lift, gravity, thrust and drag, the parts of the airplane that control flight, and how engines work. The demo is suitable for students from elementary school and up.

The demo is drawn from the same material used in a highly regarded class Boeing Commercial Airplanes gives periodically for airline customers and the media called "Airplanes 101."

The Web site also explores:

• Airplane safety features at every stage of a flight;
• What passengers can do to ensure their own safety when traveling;
