Boeing Appoints Amy Anderson Day to Government Affairs Position

Amy Anderson Day has been appointed director of government relations for Boeing World Headquarters in Chicago. She will be responsible for coordinating Boeing's local and state government affairs activities in Chicago and Illinois. Anderson Day will also provide support to the company's Washington, D.C. and international operations.

Anderson Day has held several government relations positions in Illinois. Most recently, she was director of government affairs for the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce where she was responsible for coordinating the Chamber's lobbying activities and setting Chamber policy and legislative agenda. She also coordinated the Chamber's government affairs and political action committees, and represented Chamber members at the city, county state and federal levels.

Prior to joining the Chamber, Anderson Day served as district liaison for U.S. Representative Jerry Weller where she managed local projects, community relations and political operations. While on Weller's staff she handled the proposed Calumet National Heritage Corridor, the south suburban airport and numerous community economic development projects. Anderson Day has also worked for the Illinois House of Representatives as a policy analyst.

A graduate of Drake University, she is active in many community and civic organizations, including the Community Health Charities of Illinois where she chairs the Marketing Committee, and as a former board member and treasurer of Chicago Women in Government Relations.

Anderson Day will join Boeing officially in January 2002.
