Boeing Delivers First 747-400 Freighter To Polar Air Cargo

Rep International air cargo carrier Polar Air Cargo's first Boeing 747-400 Freighter takes off from Paine Field in Everett, Wash., after delivery from Boeing. Polar Air will be the only scheduled U.S. all-cargo carrier to operate the extended-range freighters over its international route network. Polar Air has ordered five 747-400 Freighters, which will operate over routes connecting New York and Chicago with Tokyo, Hong Kong and Taiwan. Able to carry 120 tons of cargo, the 747-400 Freighter has the greatest combination of capacity and range of any commercial air freighter.
