Boeing Commercial Airplanes Group today announced the selection of Di Ann Sanchez as vice president of the Commercial Airplanes People organization. Sanchez replaces Peter Morton, who recently retired.
Sanchez will report to Commercial Airplanes President Alan Mulally and will be responsible for leading a team of employees who manage and support the human resources functions for Commercial Airplanes.
"We are very pleased to welcome Di Ann to our Commercial Airplanes team," Mulally said. "Di Ann's role is critical in helping us further develop our Boeing company-wide high-performance team."
Sanchez, 39, joins Boeing following two years as the vice president of Human Resources for Delta Technology, a wholly owned subsidiary of Delta Airlines based in Atlanta, Ga. The subsidiary comprises more than 2,500 people and supports Delta Air Lines in its global business pursuit by providing leading edge information technology solutions and services. In this assignment, Sanchez was responsible for all Human Resources functions including compensation, benefits, communication/community affairs, recruitment, employee relations, training and development. She also was responsible for special projects involving building strategic organizational capabilities for Delta Airlines.
A native of California, Sanchez has more than 15 years of Human Resources experience with companies including Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad, PepsiCo, Coca-Cola Enterprises and Kraft General Foods.
A 1983 graduate of the University of California, Los Angeles, Sanchez earned a bachelor's degree in political science there, and a master's in organizational management from the University of Phoenix in 1993.
Sanchez, who currently resides in Peachtree City, Ga., will begin her new Boeing assignment in Seattle effective Aug. 14, 2000.
