Millions of engineering drawings for Boeing and Douglas commercial jetliners are now available to airlines and maintenance providers via the e-business Web portal, myboeingfleet.com. The drawings, together with other essential information for maintaining and operating airplanes, were added to the portal on July 1. The additional content totaled more than 1.5 terabytes of data, roughly equivalent to digitizing 3 million books of 350 pages each. Myboeingfleet.com was launched in early May, and initially provided access to service bulletins, service letters, major maintenance manuals, master minimum equipment lists and other documents. Ultimately, Boeing fleet operators will be able to get all the information they need to maintain and operate their airplanes through this secure, password-protected Internet portal.
