Pratt & Whitney completed final assembly of the flight-test engine for the Boeing Joint Strike Fighter X-32A concept demonstrator on Nov. 4, 1999, in West Palm Beach, Fla. The JSF119-614 engine will power the X-32A, which will demonstrate basic flying qualities and low-speed carrier approach for the U.S. Navy variant of the multi-service fighter. Pratt & Whitney, a member of the Boeing JSF One Team, has conducted more than 600 hours of ground and altitude engine testing for the Boeing JSF program.
