Doug Bain, a 17-year veteran of the Boeing Legal department, has been named vice president and general counsel of The Boeing Company. He will report to Ted Collins, 63, who becomes Boeing senior vice president of Law and Contracts.

Bain, 50, currently is vice president of Legal for Boeing Commercial Airplanes Group. Replacing him is Eric Mulloy, 52, who is chief counsel for Commercial Airplanes Legal - Puget Sound and has been with Boeing and previously McDonnell Douglas for 10 years.

"Doug brings a broad range of experience to his new position, including prior experience in the company's general counsel office," said Ted Collins. "His knowledge of the industry and proven abilities to advise the company on legal and ethical matters make him the ideal leader for this position."

Prior to his role at Commercial Airplanes, Bain worked in Company Offices for 14 years as senior counsel and then assistant general counsel. He joined Boeing in 1982 and has been in the legal profession for 24 years. He earned both his bachelor's degree and juris doctor from the University of Virginia.
