KLM, Martinair Sign MD-11 Landing Gear Pacts With Boeing

Dutch airlines KLM and Martinair have contracted with Boeing for the exchange, overhaul and repair of MD-11 landing gear. Both carriers signed multi-year agreements that cover all of their MD-11s, 10 at KLM and six at Martinair.

The MD-11 Landing Gear Exchange Program is a "rotable program," enabling customers to exchange worn landing gear for overhauled gear from a pool controlled by Boeing. Boeing then takes the customer's landing gear, secures the necessary repairs and places the gear back in the pool for other customer exchanges. The program is managed by Boeing Airplane Services organization.
