First New Jet of 21st Century -- Boeing 767-400ER Unveiled

Freshly painted in its Boeing livery, the newest 767 jetliner pauses at sunset outside the paint hangar at the Boeing facility in Everett, Wash. The 767-400ER (extended range) was formally unveiled today during an employee celebration. The airplane is sized between the 767-300 and 777-200, seating 245 passengers in a typical three-class configuration and 304 in a typical two-class configuration. It is 21 feet longer than the 767-300, and features an upgraded flight deck and all-new interior fashioned after the award-winning 777 cabin. The 767-400ER is scheduled to enter its flight-test program in October of this year.
