Officials scrubbed today's launch of a Boeing Delta II expendable launch vehicle carrying four Globalstar satellites for Space Systems/Loral due to upper level winds. During both three-minute-long launch windows, wind conditions were unfavorable.
The launch team will target one of two three-minute windows for Saturday's attempt. The first window opens at 4:45 a.m. and the second at 7:45 a.m. EDT. The decision to launch during the first window or to wait for the second window will be made as late as 3:20 a.m. EDT.
Boeing and Loral will broadcast the launch live at 4:15 a.m. EDT. The U.S. satellite Ku-band transmission will be on Telstar V, Transponder 19, vertical polarity at 97 degrees west longitude. The downlink frequency in Ku-band is 12053 MHz.
The European satellite broadcast will be carried on Intelsat K, H-5 upper horizontal polarity at 338.5 degrees longitude. The downlink frequency is 11498.5 MHz.
