The first of six Boeing Next-Generation 737-600 airplanes destined for TunisAir moves to its final assembly position at the Boeing facility in Renton, Wash. The flag carrier of Tunisia is scheduled to take delivery of this airplane in May. TunisAir ordered the Next-Generation 737 to expand and complement its existing fleet of Boeing Classic 737s. The commonality within the new 737 family contributes to it having the lowest operating costs of any airplane in its class. To date, 57 customers worldwide have placed orders for 1,132 Next-Generation 737s. Since its launch in 1993, the Boeing Next-Generation family - 737-600/-700/-800/-900 - has become the fastest-selling commercial airplane family in aviation history.
