First Boeing 737-800 for EL AL Israel Airlines Takes to the Skies
El Al Israel Airlines, the flag carrier for Israel, takes delivery of its first Boeing Next-Generation 737-800. El Al chose the 737-800 following a thorough evaluation of competing airplanes and based its decision on economic and technical requirements, as well as preferences of Israeli fliers.
The Next-Generation 737 builds on the strengths of the original 737 design while incorporating improvements designed for the 21st century. The entire 737 family alone has won orders for more than 4,200 airplanes - more orders than the company's biggest competitor has secured for its entire product line.
