First Boeing 717-200 for AirTran Airways Makes First Flight
The first Boeing 717-200 for AirTran Airways took off today for its inaugural flight. Painted in AirTran colors and with a complete airline interior, the 717 lifted off the runway at the Long Beach Municipal Airport in Calif. The airplane will join three other 717s in the Boeing flight test program, which is making good progress toward certification later this summer. AirTran is scheduled to receive its first 717 in September.
