Like a graceful swan taking to the air, Skymark Airlines' (SKM) first jetliner, a Boeing 767-300ER (extended range) airplane, soars into its first flight from Paine Field in Everett, Wash. Skymark Airlines - Japan's first new airline in 35 years - took delivery of the airplane Aug. 19. The all-white airplane bears the Skymark emblem: five yellow stars blazing against a white galaxy ring and midnight-blue backdrop on the tail. The emblem represents the constellation Cygnus - the swan. SKM is leasing two 767-300ERs from International Lease Finance Corporation (ILFC). The second airplane will be delivered later this year.
