Turkish Airlines' First Boeing 737-800 Shows its Colors
One step closer to delivery, Turkish Airlines' (THY) first Boeing 737-800 rolls out of the Renton, Wash. paint hangar, gleaming in red and white paint. The airplane is the first of 49 Next-Generation 737s selected by THY in October 1997 and is scheduled to deliver in late August. Following an exhaustive analysis of several competing airplanes, the Istanbul-based carrier favored the popular 737 family that has long been its mainstay.
