Production workers on the Boeing 717-200 Program at Douglas Products Division in Long Beach, Calif., install the second of two BR715 engines on the first test airplane, designated T-1. BMW/Rolls-Royce builds the advanced BR715 engines in Dahlewitz, Germany. They feature low fuel consumption, reduced exhaust emissions and low noise levels. The airplane is slated for a May rollout, first flight in June and a one-year test and certification program.
