Boeing Commercial Airplane Group confirmed today a previously announced order for six additional Boeing 737-300s by Deutsche BA.
Scheduled for delivery the first quarter of 1998 through 1999, the new airplanes will be used mainly on German domestic routes. Earlier this year, the airline announced an order for seven 737-300s.
British Airways owns 65 percent of this private company.
The current-generation 737-300 is among the quietest and most fuel-efficient twinjets in the world. It offers advanced structural materials, new corrosion-inhibiting techniques, advanced digital-avionics technology, improved aerodynamics and high-bypass engines.
The Boeing 737 leads the industry as the best-selling commercial jet family of all time.
