EVERETT, Wash., May 19, 2008 -- The Boeing [NYSE:BA] 787 Dreamliner static test airplane is in position only 1,000 feet away from where it was built in Everett, Wash. This 787 structure is being loaded into it sophisticated testing fixture, which will subject the airframe to extreme loads. Engineers will analyze the results to ensure the first 787 is ready for flight test. The data gathered will also be used by the Federal Aviation Administration in certifying the airplane.
