DALLAS, Sept. 20, 2023 — Boeing [NYSE: BA] today announced a $10 million investment in the George W. Bush Presidential Center to support its museum and Veterans and Military Families programs.
“The courage, resilience and sacrifice of our veterans inspire us daily, and we are proud to stand by them during and after their military service,” said Ziad Ojakli, executive vice president of Government Operations at Boeing. “As we enter into this new and expanded relationship with the Bush Center, we renew our pledge to honor, empower and uplift military veterans and their families and strengthen our commitment to civics education.”
The announcement coincides with the unveiling of The Boeing Company Exhibition Gallery at the Bush Center, which explores the American presidency and examines the consequential times in which President George W. Bush and First Lady Laura Bush served. The gallery includes a September 11, 2001 exhibit, a replica of the Oval Office, and public policy information.
“Boeing has been a champion of the Bush Center for many years. We are thrilled to see our relationship strengthen with their support of the museum and their continued support of our veterans programming. Both of these activities are important to our mission,” said Ken Hersh, president and CEO of the Bush Center.
“The Bush Center remains committed to building a compassionate society that ensures opportunity for everyone, strengthens our democracy, and advances free societies. Boeing’s investment in our work is so valuable to ensuring that we can increase our impact for years to come. It is a privilege to add their name to our permanent exhibit gallery in recognition of this major commitment.”
In 2018, Boeing became the founding program underwriter of the Bush Institute’s Stand-To Veteran Leadership Program, which develops the leadership skills of veterans and those who serve them and their families. Boeing also has supported the Bush Institute’s work advocating for women and marginalized populations around the world.
Over the past decade, Boeing has provided nearly $40 million to a bipartisan group of presidential libraries, centers, sites and memorials, their collections and community programming to help foster a deeper understanding and appreciation of civics education, United States history and our shared democracy. This group includes:
Boeing also partners with veteran organizations to provide workforce transition support and recovery and rehabilitation programs that address veterans’ mental health and well-being. Over the past decade, Boeing has contributed more than $70 million to programs that support veterans and their families globally.
