    BOSTON, July 8, 2015 – Anna-Sophia Boguraev from Bedford, N.Y., has been selected as the winner of the inaugural ‘Genes in Space’ competition, taking home the prize of designing one of the first autonomous DNA experiments to take place on the International Space Station (ISS). The experiment aims to test the effect of microgravity and cosmic radiation on the immune system in space. Boguraev (16) hopes to offer new avenues to enhance human health during prolonged spaceflight missions.

    NASA authorizes post certification mission under Commercial Crew contract

    HOUSTON, May 27, 2015 – NASA issued a task order as part of Boeing’s [NYSE: BA] $4.2 billion Commercial Crew Transportation Capability (CCtCap) contract recently to include the company’s first-ever service flight to the International Space Station. The award marks the first time in human spaceflight history NASA has contracted with a commercial company for a human spaceflight mission.

The ninth GPS IIF reached orbit about three hours, 20 minutes after launching today aboard a United Launch Alliance (ULA) Delta IV rocket from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, Fla., and sent signals confirming its health.
