DELAWARE CITY, Del., Oct. 16, 2013 – A Boeing [NYSE: BA] security network, delivered just three weeks after it was ordered, is now helping protect a critical refinery complex along the Delaware River.
Watchstander Integrated Security Solutions, composed of intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance sensors and systems, is providing continual real-time monitoring of waterways around the Delaware City Refinery southwest of Philadelphia. The 5,000-acre site is one of the largest on the U.S. East Coast.
“Watchstander has already been successfully deployed with federal, state and local agencies, including Delaware County [Pa.],” said Mike Hettmann, director of Tactical Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance for Boeing. “That proven technology and experience allowed us to deliver a cost-effective solution in only three weeks.”
