SEATTLE, June 24, 2013 – Manufacturers and suppliers from major global aerospace and defense industries will come together next year in Seattle for the Aerospace & Defense Supplier Summit. The aerospace industry is facing significant growth in the years ahead, and this unique event enables companies throughout the global supply chain to identify new business partners and opportunities.
The Aerospace & Defense Supplier Summit will be held at the Seattle Convention Center March 11 to 13, 2014. It is endorsed by The Boeing Company and will be hosted by BCI Aerospace with support from the Washington State Department of Commerce. Event sponsors include the Washington Aerospace Partnership, Accenture and the City of Renton. Four Boeing business units -- Commercial Airplanes; Defense, Space and Security; Engineering, Operations & Technology; and Shared Services Group -- will participate in the event.
“There is tremendous opportunity in the aerospace market over the next 20 years and collaboration is the key, “ said Kent Fisher, vice president and general manager of Supplier Management for Boeing Commercial Airplanes. “Boeing needs a dynamic, engaged, highly capable and constantly improving supply chain. That’s why we are supporting the 2014 Aerospace & Defense Supplier Summit in Seattle and encouraging our top tier suppliers to attend.”
“We are extremely pleased to have this important international supplier summit return to Seattle,” said Brian Bonlender, Washington State Commerce Director. “This is an ideal opportunity to showcase hundreds of outstanding Washington companies to aerospace industry partners from around the country and the world.”
