CHICAGO, Jan. 9, 2013– Boeing [NYSE: BA] named Troy Lahr vice president, Investor Relations. Lahr will take over from Stephanie Pope, who will assume the role of vice president, Financial Planning & Analysis. Both will report to Greg Smith, Boeing’s chief financial officer. The changes are effective Feb. 1st.
Lahr, who joined the Business Development team at Boeing Defense, Space & Security last year, will lead investor relations operations and financial community relationships, working with institutional investors and securities analysts to promote understanding of Boeing's programs, financial performance and outlook.
Prior to joining Boeing, Lahr worked for more than a decade at Stifel Financial, where he held the position of Managing Director, with the lead role in covering the aerospace and defense sector.
“Troy brings unique experience and capabilities to the Investor Relations role at Boeing with in-depth knowledge of our industry from the investment community perspective,” said Smith. “His proven ability to understand and communicate about our industry will help our financial stakeholders gain the understanding they need about Boeing’s business, our market and outlook.”
Recognition for Lahr’s leadership in equity research included Best on the Street Master Stock Picker by the Wall Street Journal for Aerospace and Defense, and Forbes and Starmine Top Aerospace and Defense Analyst. Lahr possesses a Masters of Science in Finance from Loyola University, Maryland, Baltimore County and a Bachelors degree from the University of Maryland.
Lahr and Pope will work closely together over the next few weeks to ensure a smooth transition.
