Boeing Receives Secretary of Defense Performance-Based Logistics Award

ST. LOUIS, Oct. 25, 2010 -- Boeing [NYSE: BA] today announced that the Boeing and government team supporting the AH-64D Apache helicopter Performance-Based Logistics (PBL) program has received the 2010 Secretary of Defense PBL Award, Sub-system Level. The awards are presented to government/industry PBL program teams that have demonstrated exceptional operational readiness.

U.S. Army Apache materiel availability and readiness was 92 percent in 2010, compared with the contracted 85 percent requirement.

"The Apache PBL program takes a proactive support approach which uses modeling, forecasting and planning tools to position the right components, with the right quantities, in the right place, at the right time," said Col.
