Boeing CEO McNerney Statement on U.S. Export Control Proposals

CHICAGO, Aug. 31 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Boeing Chairman, President and CEO Jim McNerney today said he welcomes the Obama administration's proposals to revise and update U.S. export controls.

"Boeing supports the administration's initiative as an important step toward strengthening and streamlining our export control policies, making them more effective in protecting our national security and advancing U.S. competitiveness," McNerney said.

Export control reform has been identified as an area of focus for the President's Export Council, a newly established group which is tasked with providing President Obama advice on ways to enhance U.S. competitiveness and fuel job growth by doubling exports in five years. McNerney serves as chairman of the council.
