Boeing Employees Contribute to Southern California Relief Efforts; Company Pledges $1 Million and Commits to Match Employee Donations

The Boeing Company [NYSE: BA] has committed $1 million toward future rebuilding efforts in areas of Southern California damaged by the recent wildfires. In addition, Boeing will match the full amount employees donate to the American Red Cross, and retiree donations at 50 cents on the dollar, until Nov. 16.

The Employees Community Fund of The Boeing Company, owned and operated by Boeing employees, also has made contributions to relief efforts totaling more than $330,000 to date.

Boeing is the largest private employer in Southern California with approximately 28,000 employees across five sites. Currently the only Boeing entity affected is HRL Laboratories in Malibu, near Pepperdine University. All other Boeing sites and facilities remain open.

"The efforts to combat these disastrous fires have been truly heroic," said Rick Stephens, senior vice president, Human Resources and Administration. "Our thoughts and prayers are with all those affected, especially our Boeing employees in the region. Our hope is that Boeing's donations will help assist Southern California in both immediate relief efforts as well as longer-term rebuilding."
