Boeing today issued the following statement:
The Boeing Company [NYSE: BA] is pleased to have signed a purchase agreement with China Southern Airlines for six Boeing 777 Freighters , with first delivery anticipated in fourth quarter 2008.
China Southern Airlines is a long-time partner and we look forward to working closely with China Southern to finalize the order to support its growing transpacific operations. The airline will be the first Asian carrier to operate the 777 Freighter.
The Boeing 777 Freighter is the world's largest and most capable twin-engine freighter, with a revenue payload capability of 229,000 pounds (103 metric tonnes) and a range of 4,885 nautical miles (9,047 km).
