Boeing Integrated Defense Systems Appoints New Vice President, Business Development

Boeing [NYSE: BA] Integrated Defense Systems President and CEO Jim Albaugh has selected Christopher Raymond, who was serving as vice president, Air Force business development, to replace Shephard W. Hill as the vice president for Boeing IDS business development.

Boeing announced earlier today that Hill is moving to a new corporate position -- senior vice president for business development and strategy. Both moves are effective immediately.

Raymond, in his new role, will report to Albaugh and be responsible for development, integration and implementation of IDS customer and business strategies, and ensuring customer alignment across the enterprise.

"For the past three-and-a-half years, Shep Hill has played a pivotal role in the success of our business," Albaugh said. "Shep has done an outstanding job of understanding our customers' needs and expectations, shaping markets and working with our business leaders to provide best-of-industry solutions to our customers. I know he will do an excellent job in his new role of providing strategic direction for the entire enterprise.

"At the same time, Shep has developed a cadre of leaders within business development, and Chris Raymond is well prepared to succeed in his new role," Albaugh said. "Chris has worked tirelessly with our Air Force customer and business leaders to understand the enduring needs of our nation's airmen and developing strategies to fulfill those needs. There is no doubt that he will bring that same level of passion to his new role."

Most recently, Raymond was the business development vice president responsible for all strategy development and engagement with the company's U.S. Air Force customer.

Prior to the recent IDS reorganization, he had served as vice president, business development for Air Force Systems -- a position that led teams focused on innovative Global Mobility, Global Strike, C3ISR and Integrated Space solutions. He also has held a number of leadership assignments within engineering, supply chain management and operations.

Raymond holds a bachelor's degree in aeronautical engineering from the University of Illinois, a certificate with honors in contract management and a master's degree with honors, both from the University of California-Irvine.
