GE Capital Aviation Services (GECAS) has taken delivery of its first Boeing [NYSE:BA] 777, a 777-200ER (Extended Range) jetliner, which will go into service next month with Italian carrier Alitalia. At a delivery ceremony at Paine Field, Everett, Wash., John Bates, chief engineer for Customer Engineering, Boeing 747/767/777 Programs, left, and Brian Hayden, executive vice president and manager -- Technical, GECAS, hold a banner commemorating the delivery milestone. This is the first of 18 777s ordered by GECAS, all of which are leased to airlines. The jetliner is Alitalia's seventh 777.
