Copa Airlines of Panama has taken delivery of its 11th Boeing 737-700. The airplane features a special commemorative livery celebrating Panama's 100th birthday in 2003. The unique paint scheme is a salute to the people of Panama by Copa Airlines. Its design includes a likeness of Manuel Amador Guerrero, the first president of Panama, and a red, white and blue treatment of the stars in the Panamanian flag. The airplane is Copa's third 737-700 with advanced winglet technology. The distinctive winglets reduce drag and provide greater fuel efficiency, increasing range capability by up to 115 nautical miles. Copa became the first carrier in all of the Americas to operate the 737-700 with winglets earlier this year. Shown here, the airplane takes off from Boeing Field in Seattle on Nov. 15, 2002.
